Boxster/996/997 Intermediate Shaft Retrofit/Upgrade

Musante Motorsports has successfully rebuilt or replaced a significant number of engines as a result of the now well documented Intermediate Shaft Bearing failure. Prevention is critical in avoiding this great expense. While regular inspection is certainly worthwhile,  proactive updating has proven the best option. For this, Musante endorses the LN Engineering IMS Upgrades and/or Retrofit Kits.. LN Engineering has conducted exhaustive research on the IMS failure and developed well engineered upgrade components to deal with the issue.

While this update is often performed independently, it is a particularly worthwhile consideration during clutch or rear main seal service, when the efficiencies of access can be realized. Whether a retrofit kit or complete IMS Update is warranted (or desired), Musante has the skill and resources to implement the installation.
