Musantes 2005 996 GT3 test car engine was cracked open to enhance an already amazing power plant. Custom pistons and oversized cylinders allowed displacement to be increased from 3.6 liters to 4.0 liters without the need to change crank shafts or rods. Boxster/996/997 Intermediate Shaft Retrofit
Musante Motorsports is critically aware of the devastating results from the Boxster/996/997 IMS failures and has rebuilt or replaced far more of these engines than they would prefer customers endure. Fortunately, LN Engineering has pioneered serveral IMS Upgrade and Retrofit kits.
